Writen By Sandeep :  " Website design by Joomla Training steps "

" For any Item( for understanding say a page) , Joomla requires a catagery ( say for understanding a file to keep the page ) and a section ( say a ulmira to keep the file ) . www.ghrs.in is structured such that each top memu is a section, any submenu is a catagory . So for example, If you want to put say 1 iteam in menu say <seminars ,dharnas >, then section could be <dharnas> and category could be <dharnasc>."

As GHRS is an integrated site so members upgrading/enhancing the site should maintain integrity and consistancy in the site view. Please do not add any style of your own or something which can distract the site view. Styling is sometime required, so in that case just check for the new style being created should not disturb the site view in any case.

Please see the Joomla user guide for understanding the site management here.

Following are few suggestions to keep the beauty of the site:

  1.  Please enter the site content details in the following format:
    • 'Heading1' Style-Format should be used for the Heading Text from the Joomla text editor.
    • 'Headin3' Style-Format Should be used for sub-headings.
    • 'Paragraph' Style-Formatshould be used for the content text.
  2. Style of the text should be selected from the Joomla site text editor for the place the text being created, for an example, if you are creating any text for any Section then style should be selected as 'Section' from the Joomla text editor.
  3. If any image or media is to be added then use Media Editor of Joomla while ceating a seperate folder for the category/section being created and then upload the media/image to that folder.
  4. Don't use unnecessary styles and copied text as those may disturb site listing. A better site should have a consistant view and no style errors as it also defines a site standard and which in turn helps the site to be listed by the Search Engines.
  5. Use meta-tags and keywords and description while creating the content. This is very much required for Search Engine Optimization. The crawlers of various Search Engineslike Google, Yahoo, MSN etc need these things to be there so that they can match the meta-tags and keywords with the key words entered by the user and also the description which is displayed as a heading to the content listed.
